Debating switching my 15 2015 MacBook Pro to a nice new iMac 27 as it never goes out my house anyway. I mostly do graphic and web design but do play a few games on bootcamp (nothing too intensive) and edit the odd 4k GoPro footage, is the Radeon Pro 5500 XT a worthwhile upgrade for the additional £300 cost vs the 5300 or is the difference very small? As I'm upgrading SSD anyway Im pushing stretching my budget as it is.

Im just not sure I need the i7 over i5, but I guess its probs the best value configuration out there if im going to keep it for 5-6 years anyway

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you: upgrading my old 5,1 Mac Pro to the new 2020 iMac. I used to do graphic design and like to play games on Bootcamp, but don't want to break the bank. I've done comparisons between the 5500XT, 5700 and 5700XT as well as i7 and i9 processors and I'm pretty sure I'm going to settle on the the i7 with the 5700. I used UserBenchmark to compare GPUs and found it quite informative.

In your situation, there is, apparently, a significant difference between the 5300 and the 5500XT. See here:

Don't you have to buy the top model if you want to upgrade anything? At least for me the bottom two in the range come with 5300 standard and don't allow upgrading of anything.
To get access to anything better you need to order the top model.
Annoying for me, because I want better graphics, but the i5 would be more than sufficient processor
