I got the iPad Air 2 a few months ago and I'm very disappointed with the battery life. I would never have sold my old iPad Air if I knew it would be such a significant difference for the worse. My old one lasted wAy longer!

I don't even care that it's thinner than the previous one if the battery suffered for it.

I've even been thinking of selling my Air 2 and getting the old one back, but I guess I should wait till September?

We can only hope that apple will make the battery larger. I think it's disgraceful that my ipad2 with the WiFi turned off has at least the same battery life, I would venture more, compared to the Air2. That's one of the biggest reasons why I'm still on the 2.

And some people are clamoring for Apple to make the iPad even thinner and lighter! Don't they know that the battery size is one of the ways weight is reduced?!

They decreased the size of the battery from the iPad 4 to the iPad Air and again in the iPad Air 2. With force-touch displays coming, I wouldn't be surprised if they did so again for the iPad Air 3 in order t accommodate it.

I think the iPad Air 2 battery is pretty good. I will get an entire 12 hour day out of it work using it for a good part of the day for email, web browsing and pages spreadsheets.

whats your battery stats?

I get at least 10+ hours on screen time and a good 1-2 days on heavy use.

I've owned both and Air 2 battery life is indeed less than the Air - but not by much. I think the Air maybe gets an extra hour but that's it. The Air 2 still manages 10 hours easily.

I have noticed that having full brightness on the display absolutely hammers battery life. If you can keep it around 75% brightness and you'll get a lot more juice out of it.

I upgraded from the air 1 to the air 2 and I haven't really noticed a difference in battery life. Both are excellent. If your battery life is sub par maybe you should ask Apple for a replacement as it might be faulty.

I agree. I use to get about s good two days out of iPad 2 and then iPad Air. But since getting an iPad Air 2, I've had to charge it everyday.

My battery life has far exceeded my expectations. I thought in the real world I would get 7-8 hours since Apple said it could get 10 hours. My Air 2 can easily exceeds the 10 hours, I usually get 12-16 hours.

This is nuts

Had my iPad on for 22 hours and still on 100% wtf

Not used it at all due to sleep and work

I think it can be better but for my usage it last me between charges. Meaning I would have to intentionally avoid charging it for it to die.

one thing i love in air2 is the battery life.. but i rarely play games or watch vids.. usually just browsing/skype/sketching... light stuff... and i keep the screen brightness about 1/3 from the full brightness.
