hello, boot system in safemode, holt shift and click on main disk.. and then what?Hey everyone. I had the same speed degradation issue with my Samsung T7 SSD on my iMac 14’’. Solution: restart the machine in Safe Mode. Hold the switch-on button until the splash screen, then hold shift and click on your main disc. Fun fact, I have both the new MacBook 16’’ and the iMac, but only the iMac was affected by this issue 🤷♂️
I haven't tried it yet. Theoretically it should work but after hours and hours I can attack it today.and did you downgraded?.. wonder if that helps
You should be able to do a Time Machine restore from the Safemode menu (If you did a backup from Monterey)hello, boot system in safemode, holt shift and click on main disk.. and then what?thanks

no time machine restore! You should be able to do a Time Machine restore from the Safemode menu (If you did a backup from Monterey)
Temporary fix but it works for now.We shouldn't have to run our computers in SafeMode.no time machine restore!
HERE IS THE SOLUTION:
just quit your mac - hold down power button till you see the two options and click on "macintosh hd" it will restart your mac and the issue is gone for me..

I don't know whats up. It worked on my M1 MBA but not on my new MBPro16. In fact, the TV app won't work at all on the MBPro now.omg yea, it is slow again...
and running our macbooks in safemode could hurt them or is it bad for them?
of course i should be working without safemode.. just asking![]()
i had one hour call with apple support. we came up with three solutions:I don't know whats up. It worked on my M1 MBA but not on my new MBPro16. In fact, the TV app won't work at all on the MBPro now.
I tried creating a new user but it made no difference. I disabled the "Open" exe file from start up early on and it didn't have any effect. I did these things after I already spent 6 hours trying to figure out why iCloud was crashing and the settings menu would freeze. That was fixed when I completely removed my VPN app and emptied it from the Trash bin.i had one hour call with apple support. we came up with three solutions:
1) when u make a new user - the problem is gone, so the first solution is to migrate data from old user to the new user
2) THE EASIEST solution is: go to settings - general - login items - and if you have app called "open" try to disable it and restart your mac - then try to plug in your hdd or ssd or sdcard if you see any difference (i tried this one)
3) when in that settings - click (i) info button near the "open" app and it will show a folder with it - backup it and then delete it - it just custom settings for some apps - could help too
in my case it worked - i can finally see previews of my raw files and its loading!
try it and let me know please
can you please tell me everything that you tried?I tried creating a new user but it made no difference. I disabled the "Open" exe file from start up early on and it didn't have any effect. It would take me an hour to list everything I tried. This is what I've discovered. I spent over an hour on the phone with Apple on two occasions today; no help whatsoever. They're trying to blame Sandisk for the slower speeds after upgrading to Ventura 13.1. I've reinstalled Ventura from scratch and reinstalled my apps one at a time. That resolved the SSD issues but my SD card write speeds are still abysmal. I've tracked that down to file format. ExFat formatting is just REALLY slow on write speed. Read speeds aren't as fast as normal but I can live with 200Mb/s. Reformatting to MacOS Journaled bumps things back up to 220/250mb/s. However, my cameras only use exFAT so I'm SOL. Only other option is to downgrade back to Monterey and after 3 days of working on this I don't want to jump into it right now. I suppose I'll just ride it out and see if Apple comes up with a bug fix in the next upgrade.can you please tell me everything that you tried?
and what exactly is your problem.. slow hdd ssd?
anything new? i just tried my hdd on my friends macbook air M2 which has montery and thumbnails of my raw files loads instantly...It would take me an hour to list everything I tried. I downgraded back to Monterey 12.6.2 and everything is fine now. No problems whatsoever.anything new? i just tried my hdd on my friends macbook air M2 which has montery and thumbnails of my raw files loads instantly...
so there is a problem either with my macbook pro 14" 2021 or with Ventura itself![]()
my folder with raws when i plug it into my mac looks like this.. halfly loaded and very slow and laggy when scrolling:
I reinstalled Ventura as a completely new install first but it made no difference. I ended up doing a fresh install of Monterey and reinstalling all my apps. It was actually quite easy on the M1 MacBook Pro.can i ask you, did u try to reinstall the ventura or went straight for downgrade to monterey?
