EyeTV 2.0

when i pay $329 for a product in November and they want me to shell out another $50 for what should be a free update, I say why not. A $10 upgrade pricepoint would have been more reasonable.

If you are willing to steal $50 you would be willing to steal $10.

You made a decision that a product was worth buying and therefor bought it. They the released another product (in this case EyeTV 2.0 software). You do not think that it is worth the price they are charging. This is not a justification to steal that product.

According to elgato.com EyeTV 2 works with the following 3rd party stuff:

• TerraTec Cinergy 400/450
• Plextor ConvertX PVR
• TerraTec Cinergy T2
• Miglia EvolutionTV

I actually think that if you own original EyeTV hardware you shouldn't have to pay. If they fix their software to work on your hardware why should you pay for that? Oh well who cares I paid anyway.

Sorry to bring this thread up from the dead, but after seeing the quoted post I'm curious if EyeTV 2.0 works with the Miglia Alchemy TV PCI card as well, or only the one Miglia product listed. Any insight would be super.

Bringing this back as I don't want to start a new thread, but is it really worth it? Robbie, i know you own the DTT, how does it fair? I've heard that it has a slow EPG... is this true? And does this EPG come from Freeview or TvTv?

With 2.0 (or 2.0.1 which was released a couple of days ago) the EPG can come from either TvTv if you have an active subscription or the Freeview 7 day guide. Both are displayed in the same way. Personally I have no problem with the TvTv one. The freeview one sometime seems to totally disappear if no channel is open. It also has far less data than the TvTv one which includes a short description of each program. I'd not say it's slow though...

I have noticed that if I don't close the TvTv viewer at least once a day it seems to judder/slow down. I think that it has a memory leak...

eyetv 2.1 out!

thought i'd revive this thread instead of starting a new one...but eyetv 2.1 UB is now available! i had not been able to use eyetv 2.0's program scheduler under rosetta, but with 2.1 it now works! so no more going to titanTV to schedule recordings. other than that, it works the same...probably takes up less ram while running, but i didn't have any problems w/2.0 anyway.

haven't tested yet, but conversion to ipod-sized files is supposed to be much faster as well.

Sorry to wake this thread from the dead again, but I have a question...

I just bought and downloaded EyeTV 2.1.

Anyway, I'm having a problem using the EPG - only about 10 channels are showing up. Channels like E4, E4+1, abc, BBC3 etc are not showing up (I'm in the UK). I'm subscribed to tvtv, and I think this is powering my EPG.

Anyway, does anyone know how to get the other channels to show up in my EPG. Thanks.

You could start by checking that TvTv (UK) is selected as your EPG supplier. It's in the main application Preferences under the Guide tab.

Assuming it is selected you could try hitting the Update Now button on the preference tab about half way down on the right...

Thanks, but I've already done both those things. Any other ideas?
