1. Is a weak G3 350 even worth it? It would be dedicated 24x7 to the folding effort.
2. It's just a box. I have a PB G4, but was wondering if there was a way I could administer folding on it without shelling out for a monitor, (via my PB and some sort of cabling job).
Any help appreciated!
bousozoku said:I wouldn't bother. I have a G3/400 which I upgraded to a G3/800. I've been using it for folding for two years and early this year, the demands of folding were getting to be too much. Some work units were taking over two weeks to be completed at 400 MHz. The upgraded machine is doing much better and even bests a G4/800 at Tinker WUs.
Btw, my p212 is gone but my p1092 is going just as slowly at 52 minutes per percent.

Rower and Bertinmann may be able to enlighten us about their labs.
