Hi guys

Bit of a stubborn fault here in my 2011 MacBook Pro which I suspect is hardware related but we’ll see!

The F1-F9 keys aren’t registering at all on my keyboard. Every other key works fine including the rest of the top row. The functions don’t work, Fn doesn’t do anything, neither does the “Use standard function keys” setting.

Tested in Karabiner, the functions all work fine when mapped to a working key (brightness, keyboard backlight etc). In Karabiner Event Viewer the non-working keys aren’t showing up on there either but the working ones are.

I’ve reset SMC and PRAM with no difference. Any other things I could try to rule out anything else before I replace the keyboard?

Thanks!

Yep, it doesn’t respond either way round, nothing from Karabiner Event Viewer either, they’re just dead :|

Quick bump on this for any further advice... I'm thinking of selling it so if I could fix the keyboard before doing that, that would be ideal

Still no response at all from key event viewers so I'm suspecting a hardware keyboard issue
