Ha, even Apple isn’t willing to put their own film on their streaming service yet. Need to see if they can milk some full purchases and rentals first.
That's how movie releases work 🙄🤦‍♂️

There is a release window for Cinema, for purchase, stream and then FTA. They would be stupid to not follow the release windows and capitalise on revenue. The aim of a business is to make money 💁‍♂️

It's funny that Apple TV+ subscribers must buy an Apple TV+ movie. No discount, no special deal for subscribers. Full price just like everyone else.

Would've feel gutted if somehow it's included for TV+ stream sometime in the future.
Like the majority of the things that people say others MUST do, this is another one where they don’t have to. They can wait until it’s available for streaming like most everyone else. For those F1 fans that want it now, yes, they have to pay if they want it now. But fans of anything don’t care much about price in the first place.

If it's anything like Apple's previous films, F1 will be added to Apple TV+ in 2-3 months. So I will wait 2-3 months for my overpriced Apple TV+ subscription to get the title.

Its available worldwide since today if you know what i mean. ;)

I was willing to rent it but not available in my country so... wake up Apple!

I was expecting it to be free on Apple TV+. There is millions of other things I can do with my time so it doesn't bother me.

Considering that they just upped the price of ATV+; once they do release it, "free" might not really be free.

Either way it's the first time Apple doing it for TV+ movies. Theatrical releases typically goes directly to streaming months after. Maybe it's too expensive for Apple so it needs to be put onto paywall first.

Eventually all content ends up on streaming platforms. That’s how the world works. Feeling gutted seems like a stretch.

Especially as buying and streaming are different things: you can keep watching a bought movie after your subscription ends.

Well yes, I've purchased hundreds of movies old and new from Apple. Big discounts and it's streamed at 4K on various HDR formats (when available).

Surely beats subscription if you're an avid movie collector.
We got an avid digital movie collector here fellas. Who`s going to tell him?

What's there to tell? That digital purchase is bad, you're just buying licenses to stream instead of "owning a real physical stuff"? Let's just I know enough, I've considered all the options, and stay on topic here. The thread is all about F1 movie, I believe.

I already noticed that because today it appeared on some piracy sites (which I would of course NEVER use) in 1080p.
I wonder then what's the point paying for apple tv+ if they can't deliver even at the same time, just I the hope of collecting what, a couple thousand extra?

Maybe it’s because F1: The Movie is not a film I would like to spend extra cash for? For me it’s stream and forget type of movie.

Like I said earlier, it’s the first time that an Apple-produced movie being put up on a paywall instead of straight to TV+ stream after theatrical release.

Did anyone else think you were watching Robert Redford in The Natural watching F1 The Movie, even some of Brad Pitts lines were a copy of Redford's lines in The Natural?

Shouldn't it be free to watch for Apple TV+ subscribers? Like all their other films have been..

This is simply incorrect. Other Apple movies have first been PVOD for rent and purchase before becoming free on AppleTV+.

For example:

Napoleon: released for PVOD on January 9th 2024, released for free on AppleTV+ on March 1st 2024.
Killers of the flower moon: released for PVOD on December 5th 2023, released for free on AppleTV+ January 12th 2024.
Fly me to the moon: released for PVOD on August 14th 2024, released for free on AppleTV+ on December 6th 2024.

It’s literally a requirement of their deals with distributors, creators & talent, which command a cut of those revenue streams for a contracted exclusivity period.
