Well, I’m sure it works with many other sunglasses. I was surprised to see FaceID not work my wayfarers in particular.

right I read in other threads that different brands work with face ID. I wear my wayfarers 20% of the time.

Same here. I was curious to know if this is a phenomenon any others are experiencing given that wayfarers are pretty popular.

It works fine with my polarized aviator Ray Bans. Don't know the exact model name, but not the wayfarers. Very mirrored. Face ID unlocked fine with on. FWIW.

just tried it with a pair of wayfarers and ray ban aviators and it didn't work with either! Tried it with a pair of large cheap sunglasses and face ID worked! Must be the brand.

They still make those? Geesh that was...what 80's ?

Nice glasses, but wow.

Yep, they’re still very popular!

Good to know they work on mirrored sunglasses. I’ll have to try mine later.

This is an interesting thought!

Definitely a lot of mixed results. Some are having a lot of success with their sunglasses and others are not. I think The polarized effect is certainly contributing to that.

My polarized Ray-Ban Aviators and my Ray-Ban eyeglasses (RB 5206) work fine with FaceID so far. I suspect it could be a combination of face and sunglasses, and that sunglass brand/style alone is not responsible for false negatives.

I also tried my Gucci glasses and it only worked on the 2nd or third try. I always wear my glasses at night so I’m kinda bummed Face ID falters with glasses on.

Maybe I should re-do face ID authentication with my glasses on????

I considered this for a second too.
I do wonder if over time there is any “learning” that FaceID does over time ... ?

I just tried unlocking my phone another 3-5 times and it does seem as though Face ID has ‘learned’ my face with glasses now. It unlocks faster now :)

This is very interesting to know, thanks!
I’ve left attention awareness on as I don’t wear my raybans often and I want to get a better grasp of what works and doesn’t work with FaceID.

Try using some blueblockers :D
I have the feeling this wouldn’t roll over too well!

Has anyone tried this?
Unfortunately FaceID is not able to unlock my phone when I am wearing mine.
I had the same issue with mine, I turned off the attention required feature and it works perfectly now every time! Disable it and that should work every time.

My normal clubmaster doesn't work with Attention Required on but works without it.

Haven't tried my polarised Wayfarer yet.

I had issues with my Rayban Caravans that are polarized with no luck. I will try with the attention required turned off to see if that helps.

Easy fix -- turn off "require attention for face ID" in faceID & passcode settings. Don't see the point of it anyway. Now faceid works with my sunglasses on -- same model as yours - (before it wouldn't).

Has anyone having issues tried toggling the FaceID attention awareness setting off? Any luck?
