iPhone X Face ID does not work with Ray-Ban sunglasses

What would you have to hide from your significant other. When we had TouchID, we had our fingerprints on each others' phones, and we have the passcodes. With FaceID, we still have passcodes.

All the interactions with my mistresses.

It’s still a 1 in a million Match, it just doesn’t require your attention or your eyes be open.

For those who turn off attention-aware just so they can unlock their phone with FaceID, be aware that anyone can unlock your phone just by pointing your phone at your face. So if you're asleep, anyone will be able to unlock your device just by pointing your phone at your face and BINGO!

Personally I'd just lift my glasses up for a second or type in your passcode. Why is everyone so lazy?

Because it gets annoying to do if you check your phone often. What if you are carrying something, you need to lift your glasses to your forehead and then pull out your phone. Again, annoying.

If you've got your hands full and can't lift your glasses, then just type in the passcode? Personally, I wouldn't switch off attention-aware FaceID because your phone can be unlocked while you're asleep and that matters more to me than being annoyed at lifting my glasses or typing in a passcode, but I guess everyone has their own preferences.

Is that possible? Please someone correct me if i'm wrong but i was under the impression the iPhone X would not authenticate if a hand was in the frame. The reason being, a hand could be use to force someone to open their eyes.

Yeah, if you have a spouse/lover etc. that might do nefarious things with your phone while you sleep, you should not turn this option off.

What is stopping someone from unlocking your phone, while sleeping, with your thumb and Touch ID?

The problem doesn't go away. But Attention-aware, seems to improve this scenario.

So you might have to resort to using different pair sunglasses. Face ID was never guaranteed to work with every pair of sunglasses. For others, Ray Bans do work with Face ID.

Face ID works without problem here with polarized Ray-Ban Justin RB4165 622/T3's.

I have Rayban Polarised Wayfarers and FaceID works perfectly with them.

I also have polarised glasses from Oakley, Tag Heuer and Serengeti and it works faultlessly on every pair.

With my Ray Bans, my regular glasses, my transition safety glasses or my Rudy Project exercise glasses, it works every time. Yes, I had to enter my passcode some (usually no more than 2-3 times) in the beginning so it learned me, but it’s no longer an issue.

The other day I had a coworker be amazed at how well it was working on the production floor with glasses and hard hat on.

Right, and everyone who lives with others should worry about someone unlocking their phone while they sleep, because that could never be done with TouchID. And despite never hearing about it being an issue with Touch ID, we should all be scared about Face ID. Mkay.
