Well considering there's BILLIONS of people in the world, "one in a million" starts to become more frequent than it sounds.Just come across this. Is this the real deal?

Haha true but it does cast doubtJust an ironic question coming from someone with your username.
Just a quick thought:
If someone stole an X and walked around say... Manhattan NYC and tried to face unlock everyone, I wonder how successful that person would be
Scanning a million faces would take years. Unless you got lucky, the phone wouldn’t be worth much by then.Just a quick thought:

Your boss looks like you. That’s what that means. My boss can unlock my iPhone X, he has done it on 10 or more occasions. We are both over 60, have white hair and goatees. I was shocked the first time he did it. I have reset my face ID, a couple times, he looks at it and it opens right away.
Unless it's a riddle and the boss is the same person.Your boss looks like you. That’s what that means.
I'm trying to recall if there were similar stories circulating around people unlocking other people's devices with Touch ID.1 in a million doesn't mean impossible. Given that there are 6 or 7 billion in the world, 7,000 people could unlock your phone statistically. I'll take my chances. I took my chances with the 1 in 20,000 odds with TouchID. The scenarios that either phone would be cracked this way are pretty small. I can't believe this is news.

I only recall stories about using sleeping people's thumbs to unlock the phones. I imagine chances of a random person accidentally unlocking a TouchID is remote unless they were trying to intentionally unlock it. You don't put your thumb on a locked phone unless you are right? However, someone could just pick up you X and not be trying to unlock it, but surprise! So probably less random stories like that. I wasn't worried even when I had TouchID. I've never heard of someone's phone getting hacked with these biometric devices for intentional, nefarious reasons. But, I live in a bubble.I'm trying to recall if there were similar stories circulating around people unlocking other people's devices with Touch ID.
You saw a phone with lights blinking? Or you saw a video of a phone where those lights appeared?Hi! just got my iPhone x 2 days ago.
I realized when I saw some other iPhone X , when the user unlocks it, there will be purple lights at the notch blinking.
However, mine doesn't have the purple lights at the notch blinking but I am still able to unlock it with face id normally.
Any idea why? Why is there the purple lights?
Both.. But does the purple light blinks when u unlock your iPhone x? I think the purple light is the dot projector or the infrared cameraYou saw a phone with lights blinking? Or you saw a video of a phone where those lights appeared?
There is no visible (to human eyes) light that should appear. Some cameras are more sensitive to infrared can pick up some of it at times, so in some videos that might appear.Both.. ahh.. I see.. but I saw it with one of my friend's iPhone x and its there too.. Not sure but I will check again. There is no visible (to human eyes) light that should appear. Some cameras are more sensitive to infrared can pick up some of it at times, so in some videos that might appear.

That is not how stats work.... It is adding a statistical value to the rarity of it occurring. In my field we call that Prosecutor's fallacy. If i were to put 759992400 billion red chips chips in a bag plus 7600 black chips and let you draw, you will NOT pick black 7600 times in 7.6 billion draws.1 in a million doesn't mean impossible. If you left out the chips that you took out each time, wouldn't that be the case? That is not how stats work.... It is adding a statistical value to the rarity of it occurring.
