Facebook app: disable friend app updates

I've been using the Facebook app on my iPod touch 2nd gen (OS 3.1.3) for a while, and I was wondering if anyone found a way to block their friend's updates on their exploits in Farmville, Cafe World, etc. from choking the life out of the News Feed. It looks like there's a way to do this on the site, at least for people who are spamming their friends, but is there any way for me to block it on my end? I have looked in Settings->Facebook but can only adjust options for Shake to Reload, Vibrate for chat, Push notifications.

You have to Hide those updates on Facebook.com no way to hide via App.

Use Facebook from Safari. Its almost the same as the real thing if you select it from the bottom of the page.

And by almost I mean, no flash
