Facebook is well renowned as being one of the most used apps on iOS, but also the most badly coded, slowest and buggiest app on the app store. Many average iPad users use the app huge amounts; I wouldn't be surprised if it came second place to an app like Safari. The average consumers experience of the Facebook app reflects on the iPad, and diminishes the experience and joy people have with using it. I know many individuals who are not technologically minded believe that the flaws in the Facebook app are actually flaws in the iPad. I also know many people who dislike the iPad BECAUSE of the Facebook app: it's just awful! I know that Facebook don't give a damn about Facebook for iPad, as this produces no revenue due to the absence of advertising on it - but one of the most frequently used apps on the iPad is probably THE buggiest on the app store. Pictures take about 5 seconds to flick from one to the next; some buttons don't respond or are not linked to any command; profiles do not load; it crashes to the home screen many times after a few hours of use. All of this delivers negatively on the iPad experience. And using the web browser is an insufficient solution, as it's poorly optimised and offers no chat or notification features (in fact notifications don't work on the actual app) Why do you think Facebook allows an immensley popular app like this to be released in such a tragic state; with updates only making the predicament worse!? Surely it also rubs off badly on them? Do they have NO experienced developers? Could Apple ever step in and get in contact with Facebook over these issues - these issues which are greatly affecting the experience of iPad users?
