Facebook Chat (Java?) problem - System wide

I'm guessing Facebook chat is built on Java? Feel free to correct me.

But this is my problem: I cannot close conversation boxes, I cannot click between chat windows - I'm clicking close, minimise - nothing happens. Totally unresponsive.

I can't switch between conversations, it just doesn't work.

• I installed the Mac OS Java update, nothing.
• Thought it might be Safari, reset, deleted plist, nothing.
• Installed Google Chrome, nothing
• Installed FireFox, nothing.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

I travel a lot and Facebook chat is a great way to keep up with friends - please no negative Facebook comments, just a little help.. please 😱

Hiding the dock fixes the problem.

I've now tried re-installing Safari and Chrome, no chance.

It must be dock related. If the dock is hidden, its fine.

If the browser window it too near the dock - nothing.
