Same for me but with long form podcasts and reading substacks instead of watching cable news. It’s like going from eating fast food to learning how to cook like a chef and eat super healthy meals.

Are you saying no one should use a website that has even been breached?

Maybe you should add "After 2013, if anyone has their data on MacRumors, then they are themselves to be blamed"?
And let's not forget the fact that iCloud was hacked awhile back…

So this mega-tech company is not capable of protect even my username and password!

I have my account info at all three credit reporting agencies "frozen" (even I can't do anything, unless I thaw them), since that last hack at one of them, several years back. How vulnerable am I still, to identity theft due to breaches at sites like FB and elsewhere?

Email that I use for FB isn't showing up so wonder if this is less of a breach of FB but rather from phishing or brute force password attack. Anyway, use throwaway info/email and use a browser vs app.

See my post on the previous page. The leaked data only has email addresses for 2.5 million of the 535million leaked accounts. For whatever reason the data doesn’t have email addresses for most accounts and is a subset of a profiles data. That means you can’t do an email lookup for around 533million of them to find whether you are in the leaked data set.

Haveibeenpwnd are considering adding a phone number lookup as a result. Right now haveibeenpwnd is only going to be useful for 0.5% of impacted users.

I did manage to find some of my friends in there... Scary stuff.
When it comes to posting stuff or adding data to any social website, we should always regard them as "public" regardless of the "privacy settings"...

I searched through the USA 3.05GB database and don't see any reference to myself either by name , FB ID, telephone, email, etc.

Thanks for posting this. Unfortunately I show up.
Glad to be of help! Sorry that your nº is out there :-(

I wasn't surprised to see the lage number of phones exposed in Spain. Mine isn't on that list thankfully because I haven't given it to Facebook, although I do use WhatsApp so "they" do have it. The Data Protection laws here where I live in Spain don't work at all.

I'm bombarded (until I block them on my iPhone) with scammers who not only know my name but my ID document number and address. Most commonly they claim to be from "the electricity company" with an offer, but really they attempt to get you to transfer to another company if you give them your details, for which the scammer receives a commission.

My friend "The Major" is an inspiration 😉

...HaveIBeenPwnd is a great site and database, but I wouldn’t rely on it in this case unless they go through with the possible inclusion of phone number search. The leaked data has the wrong dataset.
HaveIBeenPwned have now added a phone number look-up
