This anecdotal, I know, but this is a futile attempt. I'm using Facebook less and less and have no intention of reversing that trend.
Seems like everyone wants to do everything and forgets what they're good at.
Facebook in music. Snapchat facilitating cash transactions. Apple rumored to be interested in creating content.
I prefer to keep my digital life neatly compartmentalized and don't need 6 different giant corporations telling me which music to like.
I'm the same, realised a few years back that I was getting very little out of visiting Facebook. I still go on it - there are good groups I'm part of and it seems to be the easiest way to create events for many people - for that I like it. However the "core" aspect of user Timelines I barely bother with.
However many (MANY and growing: http://www.engadget.com/2015/11/04/facebook-q3-2015/) do use it regularly.
Also this isn't a giant corporation telling you which music to like, it's your beloved Friends. Having said that For You is probably one of my favourite parts of Apple Music, and I also like the discovery aspects of Spotify.
Also if we totted up rumours Apple would be doing everything under the sun...
I honestly don't get this. Why not just share a YouTube video and hear the whole song?
From Facebook's perspective it's a win. This keeps people in their app. All about eyeballs in their world of ad money.
Another useless things to clutter the timeline. Do I really need to know what music people are listening!?
Isn't that all Facebook is when you boil it down - a way to know what the people you know are doing? Going to concerts, visiting family, going on holiday, doing crossfit, celebrating their birthday, sharing their mood etc. and now... in-line sharing of their musical tastes.
