"Today, Facebook hopes to be one step closer to that goal, with the roll out of a new "See First" option to its iOS app that will allow users to choose up to 30 people or fan pages that will automatically appear at the top of their News Feed every time they check the site."

There has been no update to the Facebook app, and I haven't seen that screen at all. The last update to the Facebook app was July 1. Am I misunderstanding?

Nope. I have not seen it either....

Correct, the last app update was July 1. But the new settings are available, under News Feed Preferences in Settings.

while you're at it, can we have all comments on posts in chronological order too? I get fed up trying to follow threads on pages I like because they jump around all over the place

You don't know me. Yes I would scroll through 1500 posts every day if that's what was on my list. I do it on Twitter. Why not Facebook? What? Because it's more than 140 characters per post?

I don't mind scrolling. Even if it starts at the top and I miss old stuff because it's 3000 posts down the list, I know I missed it because I know the time period that I didn't look at. That falls back on me.

As it is, Facebook is not giving me the option to see chronological, let alone set that as my default view when I login; which is what I want.

Your own willingness to scroll through 1500 updates a day doesn't represent the willingness of the vast majority of users that wouldn't. Sorry but like Apple and others, they make changes for the greatest group of users.

Quit complaining on this forum and go tell Facebook yourself. They have countless customer surveys and other ways to let them know what you'd like to see. These surveys and other data collections are how they decide to make many of their changes including this most recent one on how to prioritize updates.

I'm sorry you're butt-hurt from so many people complaining in an online forum about a service. FYI - I have submitted many many reports and surveys to Facebook about this with zero response or change.

What makes you the authority to say that the majority of people don't want to scroll threw 1500 posts a day? You trust too much in Facebook properly analyzing and predicting majority user habits. Just because they say that's what people want doesn't mean it is. Part of a software companies job is to tell people what they want. Facebook tells us people want this type of News Feed because it's better for their business that way.

What I know is that me and many people I have talked to would love to AT LEAST HAVE THE OPTION to see a Chronologically ordered combination of Timelines in a News Feed-type view. This is what "Most Recent" was supposed to do (and it sorta used to), but it's deceiving. I quickly realized that "Most Recent" is just a slightly tweaked version of the News Feed algorithm, but doesn't actually show you what you would expect.

Facebook has said themselves that the reason they changed was because people were upset they weren't seeing the updates they wanted because they got lost in the 1500+ other updates. So one of the smartest companies on the planet told you that you're wrong and people don't want it the way you do.

I'm not butt hurt at all. You obviously are though as you go on and on about how upset you are about it. You're the one crying because you aren't getting what you want.

I"m beyond tired that each device I use has different stuff. My phone has one set of stories, my iPad another - oh and the computer I'm at most shows none of what the other 2 do.

WTF??

Let me decide, make "most recent" actually the most recent. Don't make me hate you each time I pick up a different device.I can miss whole DAYS of friends stuff just because i decided to not check it on my phone that day. And notifications aren't consistently notifying.

People simply want to share the frustration, but you feel the need to reply and tell us that we're wrong for being disappointed with the decisions Facebook makes and the features they force upon us. You're happy with the news feed. Good for you. You have the option you want. Stop telling others that what we want is wrong. MacRumors forums isn't the go-to place to make a change. It's just a discussion forum.

I really don't give a **** what any company tells us. The interest of a company is money, especially in a publicly traded company that has to show growth every year to please it's stock holders.
