Facebook iPhone App Question

On the Facebook app within the chat section there are different icons meaning different things, the green circle is online/available, the moon is idle, and it doesn't show the user if they're not online, but I haven't been able to figure out what the arrow icon means? some people have said that it means a weak connection, but I'm not sure. Anyone know?

To be honest the entire Facebook app is an ugly dog, nothing works properly and there is no app I have seen crash more.

for me the arrow only is next to people on chat that are also in my contacts

New update yesterday. all runs ok now - not crashed once as yet
