Seems like perhaps Facebook is testing different designs or rolling out things slowly, as is often the case. As I mentioned, I sill have all of that just as before.

Just give it time. Mine didn't go away until tonight. Friends went away earlier today.
Facebook is unstoppable, it really won't make any difference whatsoever if few people decide to not update their app or delete it altogether. This company is only growing by day.
Remember that only those annoyed leave reviews in most cases. Those that have no gripes generally don't take the time to bother reviewing.
How do you know that Snapchat is "still growing at a rapid pace." They haven't released any growth figures and refuse to release active users numbers.
I know Snapchat is growing at a rapid pace because EVERYBODY is using it, more companies, places etc are adding a Snapchat account for everyone to follow.
They're hiding their numbers and for a reason. You can't simply know they're growing if they refuse to offer any proof. Even Snapchat hasn't said they're growing like they were. They've been VERY careful not to make it sound like they're seeing wild growth as before. Their stock is struggling and most are getting out while they can. They're already being compared to Twitter in their failure.
