After roughly 20 minutes of use, my phone can be slightly warm even just using Facebook it can hit a temp of 90.

Is this normal??

Happens on X and 7

It's Mark trying to sell you're history to other companies so they in turn show you adds that might be of you're licking......

NAAAAAAAAAAAH. But it is normal, whenever I use Facebook my phone does get hot too.

When I was stranded in a huge snowstorm whilst hiking in the North Pole, the only thing I could do to keep warm was to log in to Facebook.

Another benefit was that I thought I was completely lost but luckily facebook seemed to know exactly where I was.

Warming is normal. There is no fan or other method of cooling, the phone essentially uses the enclosure as a heatsink.

I find that since I've moved to facebook in safari instead of using the app, it's better.

One thing I've noticed is that Facebook is running in the background again. I have Background services off and Facebook is not allowed to access Camera or microphone yet in iOS 12 it's reporting significant background time. According to the Battery Stats in the last 8 days it's showing 2h42m background . They pulled this crap before. I left it running just to see what stats it would show.

And please no "I deleted Facebook years ago" responses. I use it to stay in touch with Friends that I have around the world.

Your friendships via FB will cook your phone & wear out your battery. I guess that's the price.

So facebook makes everyone elses phone warm as well?

Yes, who knows what all they have coded in that monster. I'm sure it tracks every tap, how long you look at something before scrolling, tons of stuff and then phones it all home - so it's got a lot going on beyond just what you see on screen.

YouTube does that to me periodically as well. Some runaway process that iOS doesn't kill for whatever reason. Maddening!
