Last week: Facebook would load a screen of complete garbage on Safari and the only way I could get it to work was to delete all FB cookies and cache and log in from scratch. It would then work until I closed the tab and I had to delete cookies again.

Today: now Facebook has a compulsory new look I only get a completely white screen. Deleting caches and cookies gets me back to the login page, which is slightly garbled, but logging in just gives me the white screen.

I'm on the latest versions of Catalina and Safari.

This just started happening. I can open FB in Chrome, and on my devices, but on my laptop and desktop, when I sign in on Safari the screen goes completely white. I erased history and got the sign in page, but when I signed in, the screen went white again.
Does anyone have a fix for this??

what worked for me was logging in using the iphone user agent.

first, if not enabled yet, enable the develop menu in safari:
  • pull down the "safari" menu and choose "preferences";
  • click on the "advanced" tab;
  • check the box next to "show develop menu in menu bar";
  • close preferences. the develop menu will now be visible between "bookmarks" and "window" menus.
then:
  • click "develop" -> "user agent" -> "safari — ios 13.1.3 — iphone";
  • reload the page and log in to facebook;
  • after logging in, you can change back to the default user agent: click "develop" -> "user agent" -> "default (automatically chosen)";
  • reload the page.

Me too. MacBook Pro 13" macOS 11.3. Does work in Firefox but same blank screen after login in Safari.

Zuckerberg's revenge for Apple blocking tracking? 🤔

I updated to Safari 14.1 (15611.1.21.161.5, 15611) and got a security update this morning before work. First, Youtube audio was stuttering. So I cleared the cache, history, and cookies as recommended in another thread. After reboot, Youtube is still stuttering, but also Facebook will not load. Could it be the update?

You don't say what OS you're on, or what device.

I updated my MBP 13" to macOS 11.3 as soon as it was released some days ago and Safari is version Version 14.1 (16611.1.21.161.3)

It doesn't seem that your problem is related to the update that you've applied, but I may be wrong...

Got a response from support.apple.com community. Among others here, this one worked

"Test with a private window
A website can store cookies, caches, and other data on your Mac, and issues with that data can affect your use of the website. To prevent the website from using that data, view the website in a private window: Choose File > New Private Window.
If that works, use the following steps to remove the website's data from your Mac. The website can then create new data as needed. If it's a website that you sign in to, make sure that you know your sign-in information before continuing.
  1. Choose Safari > Preferences, then click Privacy.
  2. Click Manage Website Data.
  3. Select the affected website from the list shown.
  4. Click Remove.
  5. Click Done.
  6. Open the website again in a non-private browser window."
