Hey Everyone,
I have been having problems receiving Facebook notifications on my iPhone 3GS. I have notifications turned on and all sounds, alerts and badges turned on. However, sometimes I go into my Facebook and I refresh it and it tells me I have messages, friend requests etc. However, I am not getting the push notifications on my phone. Is there something that I need to enable on my Facebook account for this to work?

My girlfriend has the Facebook app on her blackberry and as soon as she is sent messages her phone gives her notification right away.

I have tried removing the app on my phone and re-downloading, but to no avail.

I get email from Facebook right away and I get my emails on my phone, but I want my Facebook notifications to work.

Has anyone else been experiencing this type of issue?
I hope this can be fixed. I would like to be able to get Facebook notifications on my iPhone.
Thanks again.

Hey,
I just noticed that I don't think any push apps are working for me. Even with the Apple App store app, if I want to know I have updates for my apps, I have to open the app to check. Shouldn't it be as a badge on the app icon? I have push turned on for CNN, Country News, Messenger. All these apps, if I want to know if there is anything new I have to open it. Then if I don't check it and close the app, then there will be a badge on the icon saying how many new things there are.

Even on facebook, when I open the app, I have to click the Notifications bar to get it to come up to see if I have any notifications.

Please someone help me here. I really want notifications on my phone, I don't know what to do. I restored my phone brand new just about 2 weeks ago and it still isn't working. The phone is not jailbroken and I am on Telus in Canada which is an official carrier of the iPhone.

Can I please get this fixed somehow?
Thanks.

Under Settings - Notifications. Do you have badges set to ON? That would be my only guess if their not showing... Try resetting your network settings..

Also I noticed that the PUSH for Facebook, will show a 1 as a badge no matter how many updates of you of the same thing.. So if you get 3 comments on 1 wall post its only gonna say 1. But if some other update happens like someone sends you a message its gonna change to 2.

I rarely see a number higher than 1 tho so I dont even know if thats the case..

It's still not 100% of the time for me, but I've found one solution which made it better.

1. Delete the FB app from your iPhone
2. Delete the FB app from iTunes (this was the key part for me)
3. Sync your iPhone
4. Download the FB app again and install

Again, I don't get all of my push notifications, but I get about 90% of them after doing the above. Hope it helps!
