I remember that whenever I get a Facebook notification it would show the actual message, now it just says Facebook - message has been received without showing the details. Does anyone know how I can get it back to where it will give me a preview of the message?

This was happening to me on El Capitan for several weeks; not sure why it switched over.

So this is a feature and not a bug?

Could be a bug because the intent is to show a preview of your message.

On the other hand, could also be that Facebook wants people to use (the poorly-advertised) messenger.com on their browser, which also supports push notifications on OS X.
