I don't understand the drive to make every app look exactly like Apple's own apps. So now FB Messenger is going to have tiny, unrecognizable discs for avatars and stretchy, flat message bubbles that fade as you scroll? Seriously? Why??

The article only says they're testing a version that looks like the Messages app, whatever that means.

If you look at the main Facebook app, it still has square avatars, no crazy whitespace and messages don't fade out. I think the tab bar is very old-school iOS too. I don't like the iOS 7 core apps, but Facebook hasn't adopted any of the craziness.

FB... The necessary evil. Cintas refused to hire a guy because he didn't have a FB profile.

I would gladly NOT work for any company that refused to hire me on those (likely illegal) grounds.

I deleted my Facebook profile after that company has steadily went in a direction I want nothing to do with.

+1BILLION.

Facebook: I don't care about the news feed one bit. It is useless. I don't care about most commented posts. And when I set it to show me in chronological order, that's what I want to see. Not the BS News Feed that I have to change and then wait forever for your stupid app to reload!!!!

They don't like that because it interferes with their advertising plans.

Remember this is another one of those "you are the product" companies. ;)

Not really. Not yet anyway (though I couldn't care less about the graph feature). When the iPad/iPhone experience at least mimics the desktop experience, then they'll have done enough. For example: why is it that my only choices to handle my comments when accessing FB on my iPad are copy and delete? Why do I have to go to the web version to edit?

Yes, I hate this, when you have to go to the website for me, it makes the app useless, not only Facebook, many others too.

I still don't see the point of having Messenger when the main Facebook app messages just fine

This is so annoying, I deleted FB Messenger after a few days, and also, there's a Facebook Camera app .

5 apps that can easily be on the main Facebook app.

I just want the ability to turn off the chat head bubble thing in messages. I don't like it, it gets in the way of the reading my actual Facebook stuff. I don't use the FB messenger app... it doesn't make sense. I get like 2 notifications for every message which I get, and God forbid I turn on Chat. Would end up getting buzzes every 20 seconds every time i'm in a conversation with a couple of friends... :(

Also I wouldn't mind if when I'm logged into Facebook on my laptop it disables the messages notifying me on my phone. Thats just a bit more tricky to initiate I guess, but still would pretty handy :)

I'll have to disagree with you there. While there are some annoying quirks, I find I'm able to get to my needed at a glance info much easier. Especially when it comes to viewing my schedule for that day.

I have to disagree with you. My favorite app has been the Calendar, which is what I first bought the iPhone 3G for. The iOS7 version of the app handicaps the "list" view, which was the most efficient and convenient way to view your schedule. Now its been relegated to a "search" menu and you can no longer add (+) new events directly from list. I like iOS7 for the most part, but the Calendar is a big step backwards. Form won out over function. I really hope they fix this.

Maybe the next one will actually be good. The one out now sucks! It's always freezing and lagging on my iPhone 5 with iOS 7.

i have a problem with my newsfeed showing not the most recent posts and im on the main newsfeed tab not recent or any other option. did not have this problem before the most recent update.
