RIP. Moves was a beautifully designed app, minimal on the surface but with thoughtful features available.

I wish Apple would buy it and make it part of iOS.

I'm still using Moves! its been a fantastic method for me to work out mileages for expense claims I think the simplicity of a background app constantly tracking your activities was very good and the reason I bought it (following it being showcased at WWDC one year) but over time it became more and more useful for the above purpose - it did go through a rough patch of being a bit hit and miss reliability wise, but it bounced back reasonably quickly. R.I.P Moves!

For those looking for a Moves replacement: There's Arc App, which was built specifically as a Moves alternative.

It should feel familiar and easy to use for anyone who's familiar with Moves.

Downloaded the Arc app yesterday, and am initially pretty impressed ... it looks like a very worthy replacement for Moves.

The Arc developer, BTW, is apparently working on an importer that will pull Moves data into the Arc app.

Arc unfortunately seems to use a great deal more battery compared to Moves.

Geofency is better in this regard, but sadly doesn’t seem accurate to the minute the way Moves always was
