Right, but Facebook has an image for being something very different. Its like a beer company deciding to branch out into selling infant formula. I doubt many moms would be into that. And this space is already crowded. If Facebook isn't coming in leveraging their user base, they are starting from scratch. We use Skype for Business at work for most of our collaboration, along with other Microsoft tools. It serves the purpose.

I think Facebook has some value to offer to many organizations. The first being ease of use. It's an interface EVERYONE already knows and everyone already has an account. No need to set it up or maintain it. No special software (minus this new offering).

I'm not at all saying it's going to replace the competition. They don't have to. It's still a way for them to gather additional data and make money. And for some organizations, it might be the right solution for them.

I have both Messenger and WhatsApp on my iPhone. Since I need to have messenger for the rare family or group messages, I'm thinking of deleting WhatsApp, especially since I got one message in 3 years. Anyone else ditch WhatsApp since it's basically a duplication of apps with Messegner (yeh I know WhatApp has complete encryption).. Just looking at what others do since I dont want to have two messenger apps from the same parent company that shares the metadata anyways.

Good Lord no... The last thing I need is to have my coworkers haunt my facebook profile with political arguments and game requests after they feel the need to friend me.

As previously stated multiple times, Workplace by Facebook is a different platform from Facebook.com.
