I guess my News Feed just stopped working, everything else is working, such a shame, for this was one of the best apps ever, and coming from Facebook it's a big deal, I couldn't care less to use the Facebook App, but the fact that I have to use a separate app for messages annoys me so much.

It's so hard for me tu understand why there has to be 2 apps. :/

I'm pretty sure they figured out a lot of us were just using it because you can actually still send and receive messages in it without being subjected to the messaging app... All I want is to send or read an occasional frickin' message. How about porting THAT feature back to the FB App?

What's the problem with having a messaging app to send/receive an occasional message? We have a phone app that ties things to the carrier to make calls, but we don't add text messages to it and have a separate app for that (even if we just send or read an occasional message).

I don't want to be 'online'. Simply to send, or more specifically, read a message sent to me. The notification is there. The silly rodent is there telling me I need to download a 2nd app. I hardly use the feature and don't want to. However, if there is a 'new message' indicator I want to see what it is really quick and move on within the current App. As an integrated communications App with pictures, stories, news links, groups, etc. It shouldn't be that hard to simply view a message within the framework without having to install an app and switch to it when 99% of the time the features and utility are useless to me.

WTH!!!!!!!! I just download the Facebook app, and gave it access to my fotos, that's fine, since I wanted to save a photo from Facebook, opened the app a few minutes later, and the app says something like this "we just created this slide show with your pictures" and I was like.... those are my private pictures and Facebook just went through my entire phone choose photos and created and album, they say "you can only see this" but that's still awful.

Hate Facebook app.

It really was quite a fantastic app. One can debate about the useful of one over another. I just found the experience to be much better with paper.

I didn't really use it much for the news portion (as much as I could have), but I don't use news apps much in general. I did prefer it to flipboard for news, but I don't really consider FB to be linked to news in my everyday routine so it's kind of awkward to have the two in the same app - and understandably it is a must for facebook to make an app out of it.

Where this app really shines though is the ability to use smooth and efficient gestures (left to right) to navigate from post to post (or article to article). The ability to display information vertically just creates better scaling than is presented through a normal FB app. It doesn't help for wider pictures, but you can easily tap to enlarge and swipe up/down. The app just seems a whole lot less janky than the normal FB app, whether that be due to coding or the smooth transitions I don't know, but the experience was top notch.

Sad to see it go, but it always kinda seemed sort of out of place to begin with.

The fu.... downloaded Messenger app, you have got to be kidding me, there's not even a "tab" for conversations, really Facebook???? you create an app for messages, and you don't even dedicate a single tab for messages :?

News reading is a relic from pre-2005 years. People no longer want to read 5-7 pages articles, heck they don't want to read 1 pages.

There is an extreme information overload and all they can handle is the 140 character tweet or the 60 second video on instagram
