I can't say for sure because I'm not unlocked but since upgrading to 5.0.1 my push notifications have been dodgy at best. 90% of the time my phone won't alert me to new email until I open it.

Could be something with your jailbreak/unlock or it could be the firmware. You could always restore and rejailbreak and see if that eliminates one of the possibilities.

stop bumping your thread it's against forum rules. You can try something like push fix in cydia. Relax your question is not life threatening.

if you on jailbroken device, re-jailbreak with your current simcard,
sometime push notification did not work if you switched the simcard.

I'm not 100% sure yet but I had this issue, not receiving notifications (except for Words With Friends, weirdly) and I think I resolved it. I went into settings>notifications and for everything I had in notification centre, I turned off 'view in lock screen', exited settings and then went back in and turned them back on. Since then I've been getting a few notifications which I wasn't getting before, mostly facebook but also mail.

    Try this, hope it helps.

Use SAM (Subscriber Artificial Module) to activate your phone via iTunes. You'll receive legit push certs.
