Well, well, well... Looks like Facebook finally decided to come out with an update! Supports viewing video! And high res pictures! Must be due to Zuckerberg recently buying an iPhone!

I was just talking about how touch.facebook.com is much better than the dedicated app. It's about time they updated it.

does this mean you guys are going to use facebook through the safari app, or the actual FB app?

I cabt decide if this is something it always has done or not. Try typing a status message and in the middle of it, leave the app. Of you go back in it picks up where you left off. I think that's new, isn't it?

Okay, but that's something that could be done in 3.0, I assume FB just never implemented it. (still not multitasking)

That is not new.

Just tried it on my wife's phone, which has not been updated yet.

It does the same thing.

Comes right back to typing the message even after exiting the app.

Sorry bud.

Does it really need suspended state? It seems to pick up where you left off even on OS 3 if you close and re open it. Im glad we can watch video now.

It's always done that.

So whats the difference between that and save state in iOS4?

The new iOS4 save state is probably intended for more "active" apps like games. Facebook is text, so it can afford to cache and reload like it always has.

Well, if you like quickly switching apps, then yes? In iOS 4, you don't need to wait for anything to "load", once it spins to the next app, it's ready to go.

I guess that answers it then! Thanks!

Please explain to everyone what you mean. What exactly makes you think this is the case?

(Again, no it does not implement the multitasking features of iOS 4)

When switching between facebook and another application and then back to facebook, my news feed stays in the same scrolled position. Also, when going to other portions of the app, it will also keep my place so that I can return where I left off. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I don't remember it doing this before.

Edit: NVM...I see the message above. I stand corrected.

I want to be able to switch between apps and still receive FB instant messages on chat, is this possible? Because as of now, if you leave out of the Facebook app the chat goes offline.

But, if you leave the facebook app open on your news feed, then close it, then open it again, it goes back to you news feed immediately without a loading screen, you just have to wait for it to refresh. So whats the difference?
