Still wonder why Apple isn't making iMessage available on Android...
They actually offered access in the beginning but both Google and MS declined because it was encrypted and would prevent them from data gathering. Apple then shifted course and decided to use it as a platform differentiator.

What's the difference between now and earlier in that respect?
Haha 😂. True should’ve done it when Facebook bought WhatsApp. Just somehow forgot about it and now got reminded again. Shame on me. Guess now it’s too late😔.

Nah! Dump WhatsApp. If you’ve got an iPhone use iMessage with other Apple users, and Signal with everyone else.

In my message utopia future dream world, Apple will adopt RCS — perhaps in iOS 15 — and the third party messaging apps run by the data vacuuming advertising machines will slowly become a thing of the past.

Although saying that, RCS is “owned” by Google ... so perhaps there’s no hope!

That iMessage has not been a differentiator since ages. Or you really think people buy an iPhone because of Memojis?
No I think people might buy iPhones cause of iMessage tho. The fact people even ask for it on android is evident of that fact.
