I am not sure if this has been discussed but I really wish Apple would allow apps to be locked requiring FaceID or Touch ID on a per app basis at a system level(ie app developer have to do nothing on their end OR app devs could turn it on for banks etc and FORCE it to be used for their app). I feel like all the hardware and tech is their. Is their any particularly difficult road block standing in the way I’m missing here?

Yes, the road block is that Apple wont allow that option.
I agree though, I'd like to lock my email or text messages or other apps from getting opened with a secondary option either by using touch ID or a separate pass-code that my kids dont know possibly.

Or “user accounts” with a guest option.

Apple really should consider it but I’m a nobody. The hardware is there and capable I believe.

I hear you, a different user account with separate pin for other users.
For example give access to my kids to use their games and youtube or something like that. Shouldn't be too hard to implement.

And my daughter sometimes deletes my apps or moves them to other screens. Drives me nuts 😀

Lol yep. My daughter is two. She’s getting better about getting what she wants, which is currently “Baby Shark” cartoon on YouTube. She likes to look through my pics and stuff and accidentally does goofy stuff there. Really surprised if apple is not going to release “user accounts” or password protection on a “per app” basis that they haven’t released a kid mode app. I try to use Guided Access once I get it on her show but sometimes I’m not quick enough for her liking at enabling it so she can’t get bored and “wander” lol
