if it didnt u wouldn't see ur lock screen... try swiping on it before you bring it to ur face it'll help with illusion cu zit open as soon as it locks on ur face
[doublepost=1540586040][/doublepost]also, since ur a noob, on face id read fails, instead of retrying, Put in ur passcode and it'll add that failed face to ur database and all get less and less fails. its how I trained my Face ID to recognize me with a scarf on.

To be clear, it does unlock. You can confirm this by watching the large padlock icon. It does not, however, go to the home screen without swiping up.
Yea I know about the icon, thanks though. So even with the X it was like this? Could have sworn I saw it working the way I'm asking about. Weird
