I still dont see the point of this. Video calling is a waste of time, and that is when you can actually see the person your talking to

hi all

Attached a weblog who show, step by step, how to get FaceTime working on the iPhone 3GS.

I am confused about having Facetime on a 3Gs as well. One of the best parts is seeing the other person you are talking to.

Someone should build a little clip-on periscope type thing so that the 3GS camera can forward-face. Although it would probably be easier to just get a 4 :)

Just a note to those that install this: If you have a HD video recording mod installed on your iPhone, this will remove that. And unless you mod the files yourself, there is no way to have both.

do you have the files from this mod you can zip and send me?

It will not work on a 3G. That device lacks enough power to do video chatting.
Doesn't mean it can't. All it would need to do is stream a lower resolution video. Can't you video call people with fring on a 3G anyway? So there must be a way to make it work.
