Skype is free as well and has been available on computers for more than five years and on the iPhone for well over two years (though I felt the iPhone 3G had too slow a processor or too slow a WiFi connection for it).

Not skype video though ?

The only real use of video calling IMO is phone to PC or vice versa IMO

We had video calling on nokias since 2000 here in the UK, but as with iP4 it was mobile to mobile only.

I don't understand why apple is pushing Facetime so much...... Its situational and most of the time I do not want to see peoples face... most of them are ugly anyways.

90% of the time I'm texting the other 10% I'm using email to communicate with others. the last thing I want to do is get stuck in a facetime call....

Apple isn't making products for YOU. Just because you don't find it useful doesn't mean everyone feels the same about it. Did you even watch the Ads?

They are most likely going to be wearing some form of head gear (per their religion) so that you can't see their face anyway. Apple is probably renaming it "TurbinTime" (sounds like a cleaner).

Apple are also planning to rename it in the states to IgnoranceTime.

I still don't really understand what the big deal is about it. They're touting it as though they've come up with the concept when it's been around for years.
