Facetime alternative for PPC?

    Oh yes I have skype, I just want to know of any others. Can you skype with facetime?

    No. They are completely separate services.

    I see you have an ipod touch though.
    You can skype off an iPod/ipad/iphone though

    That is what I thought. I guess that there aren't any facetime services for PPC then?

    Facetime will only work on SL and Lion.
    so no.

    besides, I assume you are useing an ibook? FT is pretty proccesor intensive!

    No. FaceTime for the Mac is purchased through the Mac App Store. The Mac App Store requires OS X 10.6.6 or greater, which is Intel only.

    Every device that run facetime can run skype...even more devices can run skype...

    Well I'm getting one anyway... I need it for App development... Facetime will just be a plus!

    Well, if you are getting a Mac capable of running Facetime, you will not be disappointed. It is similar to other video-chat type apps like skype, but it is very easy to use and I was quite surprised how much I use it myself. When I am at a convention or somewhere else around the US and away from home, I use it to videochat with my Wife and Kids. Great little app.

    I don't think they understand what FaceTime means.

    FaceTime is a video chatting client, not a synonym for "video chatting."

    Think of it as an app, but it's only integral to Apple devices.... that are either iOS or Intel-based.
