iPad mini Facetime and iMessages

I just got an iPad mini and I cannot get FaceTime or iMessages to work on it. I've looked through the support section on Apple website and still not working.

Any ideas?

How are you verifying that it isn't working? If you have an iPhone, is it running iOS 6? What is the iPad Mini doing - are there any error messages?

It just keeps saying connection lost and iMessages don't send. Ipad running 6.1.3.

Found out its my router so Ill be replacing it!
