I'm going out of town this weekend and was hoping to use FaceTime to chat with my boyfriend while I'm away-if I'm on wifi and I initiate a call with Facetime, does it count as a phone call as well that I would get charged roaming for?

Also, if I start out with a phonecall and then switch to FaceTime, does the "call" end (therefore I wouldn't be using up my minutes)?

FaceTime is wifi. No cellular charges apply.

If you call first you will be accountable for that 1 minute before FaceTime is initiated.

You should just go to your bf's contact details and choose to call Facetime right away to avoid any cellular roaming cost 🙂
