For the last few betas, on startup I'm getting FaceTime automatically popping up.

It isn't within the login items so I'm a bit baffled, is anyone else experiencing this?

Good thinking, but nope it’s unchecked.

My system is an M1 Mac mini too, in case it makes any difference.

I have experienced this for several betas as well. Checked all the usual places to no avail. Not sure but guessing it has to do with call/text forwarding from iPhone since FaceTime opens and I get the location verification pop up for wireless calling.

That’s what I have, it went away for a little while but now it’s every time I turn it on. But it’s now with the added noise of continuity camera…

also check the launch agents and launch daemons folders as well as privileged helper folders for any files related that may have gotten in there.

Facetime always has a background app, when you are using WiFi calling. It will also be used to confirm your 911 calling location.
