Facetime camera brightness

The image from my facetime camera is quite dark and shows a lot of shadows and if I put my iPhone 4S in a similar position the image on that is much brighter. Is there something wrong with the camera in my iMac?

Even when the brightness is up full the camera pic is still dark.

A fix

Close programs that use your camera.

Cover the camera (so the camera will think its really dark)

Open a camera program - ie PhotoBooth

uncover the camera.


This is what worked for me.
The problem started when I had really bright lights on me, so doing the reverse fixed it 🙂
