Facetime continues to ring after taking call on Mac

Often when I take a FaceTime call on my iPhone or my Mac it is still ringing on the watch, and sometimes it doesn’t even start ringing on the watch until after I take the call on the Mac. Is this a common thing or is it just with my setup?
