This is pretty interesting way to get around AT&T's limitations of where you can use FaceTime.

Basically, we are using a Sprint OverDrive 3G/4G mobile hotspot. In this demo, we have the OverDrive locked into 4G mode.

The quality was pretty good and allows us to use FaceTime from anywhere.
 
You're not getting around AT&T's limitations.
You're still using wifi to run facetime.
Getting around AT&T would be to hack facetime to work over 3G/2G carrier data.
 
although its cool, why would i pay two different carriers? are mobile hotspots really THAT convient with everyone offering FREE wifi?
