Hello all,

FaceTime on my iPhone 4 is not activating at all. It keeps saying "Waiting for activation." I tried all of the fixes that have been suggested: hard reset, power cycle, iOS restore, removing and reinserting the SIM card, replacing the SIM card, replacing the iPhone itself....

My iPhone is not jailbroken. It has iOS 4.3. I bought it with iOS 4.2.1. FaceTime was not working with the previous OS.

I am located in Japan so the carrier is SoftBank. I have talked with SoftBank and Apple people in my area. But no solution.

Could anyone help me??? :(

Do you have a text message block on your plan? Is data working? Are you on the official iPhone plan (packet houdai and all that)?

I am not sure what text message block means. I was not offered such option when I signed up for the iPhone plan. Everything else except for FaceTime is working. SMS is also working. I am on an official iPhone plan.

Apple support person told me that upgrading iOS might help to solve this issue. So I upgraded iOS from 4.3 to 4.3.1 today. But the problem still stays. It wasn't solved. Such a disappointment!!

I did restore my iPhone and set up as a new device. Still it doesn't solve the FaceTime activation problem. No hope.

Have you made sure you are on WiFi?

Also check your settings to make sure nothing is out of the ordinary.
