iPad mini Facetime on Mini: Doing something wrong

Facetime works great on the mini, but when I initiate the call, I can barely hear the ring, I mean it is low, low. It is not in mute. Have I missed a setting somewhere? Thanks.

That is normal. iPhones do the same thing...also when on speaker phone it rings very low
