I don't see how my problem is anywhere other than with Facetime itself. If I can run slingplayer, airvideo and any other app I want over wifi and not have a single disconnect, that tells me that my phone and router are having no problem communicating and my internet connection is fine. If I was dropping my wifi connection while doing other things, that would tell me that I probably have a problem somewhere. My only problem is when I use facetime.
If you are convinced that your WiFi is fine, and your internet connection is fine, then you either have a problem with your phone, or as you say, a problem with Facetime. Have you taken it to an Apple store to try it out there?

Nope, but I've contacted Apple support several times and they've been unable to help. They want me to upgrade to 4.3.5 but I can't do that because I'm jailbroken. There are plenty of people on the same version as me (4.3.3) who aren't having any issues so I don't see why upgrading to 4.3.5 would help anyway. I keep searching hoping that someone will come up with a magical solution but that hasn't happened yet.

Are you able to try somebody else's (preferably Jailbroken like yours) iPhone on your network to see if that suffers the same? You need to get to a point where you can safely say it's definitely either the phone hardware, or the OS. You may just have to suck up and do a factory reset and update to the latest OS to see if that fixes it, then wait for Jailbreak to catch up (if you are unable to downgrade). If it still doesn't work, you need a new phone anyway so haven't lost anything.

Are you in an area with a strong 3G signal? Have you tried using 3G unrestrictor (download thru Cydia) and adding FaceTime to the list of apps? I use FT 2-3 times per week and roughly 1/2 the time I'm on 3G and only have issues if I'm in a bad 3G area and never any problems on wifi or where there is a good 3G signal. Most of the time I'm calling my daughter who has an iPod Touch and is on wifi.

I've been following FT threads all summer hoping to find an answer, and so far no luck. I'm including my info here to show the OP isn't the only one experiencing this. If you google "facetime disconnects wifi" you'll see there are several threads on the official Apple site, here and other sites with users experiencing the same problem.

I've been overseas since April and try to FT with my wife almost every day. She is using an iPhone 4, not jailbroken, latest firmware. I use my iPhone 4 or my MBP with FT. Nearly 100% of the time our calls disconnect in <10 minutes with her phone losing connection to the wifi and losing her network IP address. She has to wait for the wifi to refresh or manually cycle wifi in settings to regain connection. Neither my phone nor my MBP ever lose wifi connection--it always happens on her end.

Like the OP and many others, I think the issue must be related to her specific phone because she can watch a 2-hour Netflix movie or perform countless other tasks without ever losing the signal, and the problem never happens on my phone. We've also tried switching the Trendnet access point to G only with no success.

We don't have a nearby Genius Bar to try--yet. There's a store opening this month so maybe she can try them when the store opens.

In summary, this post is a very long "me, too," added to show that the problem is real and unfortunately has not been helped by the summer's software upgrades.

Couple of things that can be done to check/resolve the issue ...

(1) Swap routers with new/different models (If not possible, proceed to 2)
(2) Under Router settings (not applicable to Apple ones I think), you would find 2 options in different places.
... QoS (Quality of Service) : In this you can set the IP of your phone to highest priority
... DMZ : In this provide your phone IP to be totally excluded from any kind of firewall checks by the router
(3) While in settings you can also check on following ports in the logs to see when the drop happens : 53, 80, 443, 4080, 5223, and 16393-16472 (UDP)
(4) Once all above are done, do a test run (if possible) with 2 devices on the same wifi network
(5) Try normally

These kind of things can only be resolved hands-on
