This seems like an obvious move for apple. Itwould increase the amount of people I can face time with from 0 to 5

Oh and if this is the supposed killer app in iLife '11 it means the real killer part is iLife '11 will be for Windows too.
More nails in the coffin.

It's hard enough to wait for Sandy Bridge. I'll probably sell off my current notebook when it hits $500. It's almost there with all the accessories.

The display bezel just started to crack too. It's a good time to hit up the local AASP for some more repairs.

yeah but i can do it on my phone from anywhere........

What, you have a real phone with video calling ? Because the iPhone 4 and facetime sure don't work from anywhere.

Is your phone a Nokia N95 per-chance that does video calling over 3G, oh and has done it for far longer than iPhone ?

What are you referring to?

He's referring to OS X.

If, as Peace suggested, iLife '11 does get ported to Windows, that's one less reason to buy a Mac. Of course, it's pure lunacy to expect Apple to port their entire suite to Windows.

I'd love to see more people using iChat, and FaceTime could be the one feature that may win them over.

I've noticed ever since Facebook and such, I see less people logging onto their IM service; for example being here in Australia Windows Live seems to be the most popular. I used to see at least 20 people at any one time, now it's hardly even 3 or 4. I don't even bother logging on anymore (and that the messenger client for OS X is piss weak compared to it's big brother on Windows).

wtf more azn girls with generic white guys ... apple's evil plan for china domination is proceeding smoothly ...

That's been my experience too. I chalk it up more to the fact that I am the only one I know of on the Mac bandwagon amongst my friends though. That said, a couple of them DO have iPhones and are going to upgrade to iP4. If they bring it to the desktop, then I can finally have a use for my built-in iSight.

Looking forward to this, if it pans out.

better integration with the address book would be great! as well as the skype, unless i'm missing something. i don't want to use tons of apps do do video chat, i need them all to be running at the same spot.
it would be great adress book has a feature to connect with skype, FT, fb-chat, maybe google chat....

and since FT is "open-std" it should be ported to windows as well. unless they just provide the src, and let the WinGeeks figure something out....:D
