Is there a way for a (jailbroken) 4.01 iPhone to FaceTime via email with an iPod Touch, or is an upgrade to 4.1 required? Thanks.

I tried it and it went the the facetime screen but didn't connect because the email address was fake because I don't know anyone with 4.1

Hmmm...having the same problem with a Gmail address, with the period before "com" disappearing.

    It really worked?!?

That is really the only feature I feel I am missing out on with 4.1, as I want to pick up a new ipod touch for my parents soon.

I suppose even if you could FaceTime call an email, someone with a touch couldn't initiate a FaceTime call with you, could they?

Okay, I've tried substituting various symbols in for the period in .com, but nothing seems to be different, except for this odd clicking sound before it fails.

If you actually think about it the question to begin with and assumptions that this would work is whats Hilarious.
You will obviously need both devices sending and receiving the facetime request over email to be on 4.1
