My iphone 4 won't activate facetime. At first I didn't have the button, when in a call so I searched settings and found that it wasn't turned on..

I turned on facetime and it says "Unsuccessful, please turn facetime on to try again" But when I turn it off and back on nothing happens..

This is a 16gb 4, that was restored from a 3g backup after activation.

Anyone else having this issue, or found a work around for this issue?

Hey Bikr, I'm having similar FaceTime issues after restoring from a 3GS backup. Initially FaceTime simply wasn't activated, but multiple attempts to activate it on both wifi and cellular networks just continues for hours. This Apple support thread outlines one potential problem/fix, which is that FaceTime might not activate if your AT&T account has a block on messaging. I don't want to remove that block just yet since it's so difficult to get AT&T to put in on when you own an iPhone.
