FACT: This whole FACT thing is getting out of hand. :p

Agreed.

I think it can be said that EVERYONE wants a faster computer, why not? If you can do the same tasks in less time (assume it was computer limited and not user) then why not welcome and want such technology?

The major difference in my mind is proposed speed vs. usable (feel) speed. I am using a 1.5Ghz PBG4 and it FEELS faster than my 2.4Ghz PC setup. Granted all things are not exactly equal, but it responds faster and just seems like a snappier system. I have not opened PS on both with the same file, and run a ton of filters on the clock to measure the performance, I personally don't care for numbers like that. I don't use those 'pro' apps for my job or to make my income, they are my hobbies and I can wait a few minutes if need be.

I think the major difference is that Intel has focused on getting the biggest #s on the paper, because they know that is what people will blindly want, and they were right. I think that a dual 2.7Ghz G5 PM is probably JUST as fast in real-life application as many of the top-line editting PCs created. Sure you can post a graph showing otherwise (please don't waste of forum space) but in application I bet they are quite similar. Afterall, much of the industry uses Macs, why if they are that much slower? There must be reasons because usually speaking the masses are not stupid (there of course are the moments as always).

So enough with your "FACT:"s, I think we all get your point without the capped fact and colon.
