How can I reset an iPhone 5s with a broken home button if I do not have the passcode anymore?

You wouldn't be able to reset it without the passcode even if your home button worked. It will prompt you for the passcode before the reset.
That’s incorrect.
There are instructions on apples page on how to factory reset your phone without the passcode. Genius bar told me the same thing years ago.

I don't think you can. You can get around the passcode but with a broken home button there's no way that I know of to do the reset. Maybe someone else has a solution?

The workaround would involve putting the phone in recovery mode without the use of the home button.

The question is: Does anybody know how to do this?
