Hi All.
My mid 2012 Macbook Pro Retina has dual graphic chips
- Nvidia GT & Intel HD Graphic.
When boot up, I assumed it boots to Nvidia GT.
I got a blank black screen (though it starts as the keyboard light up).
After covering the Macbook with a blanket for about 30 sec, on touching any key, the login screen appeared.
Usage us as per normal after that.
On checking the system info, the Nvidia GT does not show up. Only the Intel HD4000.
Based on all that, I assumed the Nvidia GT has failed.
A trip to the Apple Genius Bar and got a quote for AUD800 plus to repair.
Not worth to pay that much for an "old" Macbook pro.
The fact that the other Graphic Card (Intel HD) is still functioning, that is more than sufficient for my application.
How to I force the Macbook to boot to the Intel HD, and not used the failed supposably more superior Nvidia.
Don't want to cover the Macbook with blanket to switch everytime I boot it.
Appreciate any help.
