hi guys I just got my AW4 and I activated the torch mode and right down the center (just to the right of the middle dot at the bottom of the screen) I can see a faint red line.

Once the torch brightness up I can’t see it but when it’s dull the red line becomes obvious again

I have the exact same thing on my watch in the exact same spot :( Shouldn't have gone looking for it, it is very faint and didn't notice it in normal day to day use (I have had my watch since launch). However now I know it is there I can just see it on the white background on the watch face :( Not sure what to do now..........

Doesn’t sound normal. I would consider contacting Apple for an exchange or warranty replacement.

My immediate reaction is it's an OLED panel defect, maybe a faulty address line for the green/blue subpixels in the row that shows up as red.

Suggest returning the watch at some point before warranty runs out; unless this issue is very irritating maybe not right now though due to how constrained supplies are. From what you describe it seems difficult to spot, so probably not a big hurry though.

I am 6 days past my return period however I called Apple this morning and explained to them the issue and they have granted an extension so I can return for a refund. Now to hunt down another SS Gold 40mm :(

I was very lucky, my local store received some 40mm GSS with Milanese today so I went and picked it up at lunch time and happy to report no faint red line down the screen on a white background.

Will return my faulty one tonight.
